Anna Mae’s first one-act play, Break-Up was published in i.e., a Rutgers literary journal with pieces chosen by professors. Anna Mae’s writing professor at the time, Alicia Ostriker, once called, “America’s most fiercely honest poet” asked her to read it with her at a Rutgers’ event. Anna Mae was flattered and it was well received.

Many years later, she took a play lab class for fun at the International Women’s Writing Guild 2019 Summer Conference at Muhlenberg College and wrote her second one-act play, Marianna and the Wild Boars. A table read to the conference audience received a great response. She sent out her script and received an invitation to have the play produced by the Manhattan Reparatory Theatre.
